How we will operate:

We will produce scripts which our members have interest in, a forum which we call "The Table" is where all petitions are thoroughly discussed, and evaluated by COSF members.  A developer may place a petition regarding:

  1. Any project or idea that they have.
  2. Take up an abandoned/dead project from https://sourceforge.net or other places on the net.
  3. Fork/Join/Merge a current project that is already developed on SourceForge by a non-affiliated group, but it is up to the applicant and the current project members how they will join.

A project may be added to the CVS without breaking any rules (the act of uploading without consent does not break a rule, however transmitting any material that may conflict with the rules is different).  Technically you can skip the forum trials but not very many people will know or support it so their will will be no support and you may find "The Table" worth the time to test its value.

If approved by an unbiased admin the lead developer(s) will be declared in the same thread that the project was passed, the lead developer(s) will then start a SF project and setup all Source Forge's tools except CVS to help them collaborate on the projects.  All development is done in the COSF CVS repository to make it easier for developers to contribute code the moment he joins COSF, upon joining he will have access to every script in the repository.  During the production we will track changes using syncmail, we suggest that you join the project's syncmail mailing list, if it exists.
